Autistic After Hours is a community interest company set up by autistic people for autistic adults as it was identified that there are no services or support groups for people with autism that are not held during typical working hours.
We meet regularly throughout each month and have events such as D&D, coffee mornings, games evening, craft sessions, a support hub, evening walks, day trips and outings.
We hope that attending the group will promote positive well-being, self-worth and self-confidence, where being autistic doesn’t need to be a barrier to enjoying social activities and company.
We welcome any adults who are autistic to join us, our only criteria is that people can attend groups independantly and see to their own care needs. We do our best to support all autistic adults including those with learning disabilities or other additional needs.
Our aims are:
To allow people with autism to access vital peer support
To alleviate isolation and loneliness within the autistic community
To provide a safe social environment where people can be themselves
To enable people to share their special interests
To boost the mental health of people within the autistic community
To provide an inclusive and accepting culture
To support forming new friendships and social networks
